#17 Ellie Hallinan Watches on as Granatelli Celebrates After a Crucial Ace for the Sweep Win Over Agoura High School Tuesday, Sep 30, 2025.
Thursday night, the Oaks Christian Eagles avenged their only loss of the season against cross town rivals, the Thousand Oaks Lancers, splitting the two meetings taking place this season, both taking 5 sets to ultimately find the winners. The Eagles girl’s volleyball team would not be denied the second time they played the Lancers. In a hard-fought battle both side traded blows, the Lancers striking first 25-20. The Eagles fired right back with their own 25-20 win. Now tied set for set, point for point, Coach Julie Bennett changed her line up utilizing #3 Audrianna Granatelli (DS) at a maximum level. Granatelli did not disappoint, Acing the Lancers once, scoring 5 more times defensively and ultimately firing back with a 25-12 victory. Set 4 resulted in another close battle 25-20 win for the Lancers, setting up a 5th set for Marmonte League CIF Southern Section (CIF-SS) supremacy. This time Granatelli and her Oaks Christian Eagle sisters would not be denied. After Granatelli served a bullet, #15 of the Lancers, Sayler Halvorsen, fired right back with a monster spike. However, Granatelli would not be denied with a perfect pancake save setting the ball to #10 McKenna Kimbell of the Eagle who sealed the deal. The Eagles went of to a convincing 5th set victory, scoring 15-8 for the win. Granatelli, with her smile and elation was quick to credit the entire team, “there was no MVP tonight, each player contributed equally and we got the result we wanted”. Oaks Christian showed their stamina never wavering from the first serve to the last point earned in the 5th set.
